What else?Elephant in the street
Elephant is walking in the street and everybody is stolid. The driver of the bus is peacefully following the elephant. Would it be usual for them? Yes, it would be. This picture was taken a few hours before the largest Buddhist festival in Sri Lanka, called Esala Perahera. All the public area next to the streets are crowded by people, who took their place early in the morning. They are really quiet and waiting for sunset, when the procession starts. Are they really stolid? No, they aren't. They are buddhist who are waiting for their most important festival. Hundred of thousand of people go to see Esala Perahera every year. That is only the preparation. What else?
What else?Tea harvesting
Tea harvesting women are working or local models are posing? Actually, they work in the tea gardens every day and wait for turists to be their models in their spare time. When I met them they offered me to imitate harvesting and asked for change. I think this is well known for travellers who took picture in developing counties. Have you ever made any calculation about the tips compare to their salary? I did. Posing for 3-4 pictures and receiving a few dollars that is equal to their daily salary... It looks like as an ordinary picture of tea harvesting women, but look at it once more they earn more money posing in photos then working in the garden all the day. They are models. What else?
What else?Halven buildings
Shops and apartments are in a building standing by the road. It looks like building was started to be demolished and at a certain point of time someone had changed his mind and decided to stop it and let people to continue their life. Part of the front of the building seems to be newly built and others are perharps an old partition walls from the past were left. Actually, there was clear concept behind demolishing. The road was too narrow. The road should be widened and the buildings by the road should have been demolished partially to give some space for the road construction. What is the solution? Keep the main walls and constuct a new front a few meters behind. What else?
